Heat and shelter for disabled children in Malawi

The Lifeline Fund has been extremely prolific in recent years, and as a result of their many ongoing projects, hundreds of disadvantaged and orphaned children in Malawi now have a much better future to look forward to.

The newest project undertaken by the charitable organisation is the Daycare Centre for Disabled Children in Malawi, which aims to care and develop vulnerable children struggling to get through everyday life due to inadequate facilities for the disabled. This new centre has changed all that; providing these bright and encouraging children with a sanctuary in which to grow, play and learn.

The centre has now undergone some further changes. The Lifeline Fund and their many volunteers have been collecting children from as far as 20km away, but they have now started to work on building a dormitory for up to 30 children. This will hopefully remove the daily inconvenience of having to travel to the centre each day.

The new dormitory will be powered and heated using solar power, a great source of renewable energy enabling Malawians to sustainably support themselves. The children will benefit from heated running water, flushing toilets and functioning showers.
