The Lifeline Fund has many worthy projects in Malawi, but the organisation has announced that one in particular is to be honoured with a special presidential visit this month.
Madame Callista Chapola-Chimombo, the First Lady of Malawi and wife of State President Dr Bingu wa Mutharika, is to visit a Lifeline Fund project in Namarita, East Zomba on the 20th July. The First Lady – who is still technically a newlywed after marrying the President of Malawi, Dr Mutharika, in front of a huge crowd at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe – has also recently been appointed a position as African Union Goodwill Ambassador, replacing former representative Joyce Banda.
Madame Callista has been a valued friend to the Lifeline Fund for some time now, and the charitable organisation’s volunteers as well as the orphaned children they care for are very much looking forward to her visit. Her role as Goodwill Ambassador means she is in a unique position to visit projects like Namaritha, doing what she can to support the Lifeline Fund and other organisations like it.
With her help, more and more vulnerable children in Malawi will have a brighter future to look forward to.
